Marylene `Mary` Hanson, Age:87

Marylene “Mary” Hanson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world to be with the Lord on November 14th, 2022 at age 87.
She was born to Otha and Mildred Chipman on October 24th, 1935 in Hennings, Tennessee. Mary left Tennessee to continue her life dreams and adventures in Chicago, Illinois. She worked at Miller’s Steak House where she was known as “little Mary”.
Mary loved spending time in her garden, sharing special moments with her grandchildren, picking strawberries, creating quilts for her grandchildren, trips with her husband, pampering her dogs and spending time with friends & family. 
In 1970, Mary met the love of her life Robert Hanson. They were married in 1974 and together raised Mary’s nine children.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Robert Hanson, sons Ronald Coleman, Richard Coleman, Freddy Coleman and her daughter Cathy Ramey. She is survived by her sister, Rita Fortner (Carl), children, MaryAnn Sciacca (Edward), Eddy Coleman, Millie Day (Jim), Patty Davis (Eric), Susan McMahon, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.
 
Family and friends will meet Sunday, November 20th at Olson Burke Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center, 6467 N Northwest Hwy Chicago, IL for visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a funeral service at 3:00 pm.

Mary often sat in front of my mother Luana and me at Mayfair Lutheran Church during its last few years. She was very friendly and we always enjoyed chatting with her. My condolences to her family; I regret that I cannot be there to express them in person.
